Houston - 2 Colorado - 1
The dynamo notched there first win in the 2008 campaign with goals from Brian Ching and Dwayne DeRosario. However, Colorado didn't make it easy on them tying the game up in 68th minute. But the dynamo caught a break when Ugo Ihemelu tried to take a ball down with his arm inside his own 18. DeRosario stepped up and converted the pk in the 87th minute to assure his team of the victory. Houston did not look impressive, but a win at home is definitely something to build from. For a full review of the game click here.
Real Salt Lake - 2 FC Dallas - 1
RSL remained unbeaten at home this weekend with a win over West leaders, FC Dallas. Javier Morales opened the scoring for Salt Lake in the 28th minute, but in the beginning of the 2nd half Kenny Cooper was able to pull one back with a blistering strike just inside the near post. Definitely a goal of the week candidate in my book. But it was Beckerman's third goal of the season in the 78th minute that sent Dallas home packing. This was a surprise to me, but it just shows you how important home field advantage has become in MLS this year. For a full review of the game click here.
Columbus - 3 San Jose - 2
The Crew showed character in this come from behind victory, and San Jose showed signs of life with 19 shots and two goals. San Jose jumped out to a 1-0 lead right before the end of half, but Columbus came out fighting in the second and finished the half strong getting 3 goals in last 20 minutes. Robbie Rogers had two goals for the Crew with Brad Evans getting the game winner. On the other side of things San Jose saw goals coming from unlikely places in Ramiro Corrales and Ryan Johnson. I really thought Columbus would win this one by a large margin, but San Jose surprised me in this one producing a lot of chances. For a full review of the game click here.
New York - 2 Los Angeles - 1
Sexy soccer was nowhere to be found in LA on Saturday night as the Red Bulls stole 3 points on the road and remained undefeated for the 3rd straight game. Danleigh Borman got New York started and out to an early lead tapping in a cross, but LA responded in the 77th minute with a strike inside the 18 by Alan Gordon. New York answered immediately, a minute later Juan Pablo Angel received a through ball behind the defence dribbled Cronin and put it away for the game winner. New England - 2 Chivas USA - 1
New England looked very impressive in this victory over Chivas USA, and Preki was left looking for answers. The revolution got goals from Mansally and Taylor Twellman showing no signs of slowing down the entire game. Chivas USA looked uninspired and defeated from the start of the game. With players like Burling and Paladini getting some time in this one it just shows me that Preki is desperate for someone to answer his questions. For a full review of the game click here.

Hey - sorry I haven't posted on your blog yet and thanks for the MLS team blog link.
I dunno if "character" is the right word for The Crew. From where I was sitting, it looked like a very dirty game. A lot of diving and quite a few injuries inbetween all the dives. I'd say they forced San Jose to play rough then when SJ changed to a 3-4-3, they took advantage of the defensive change and scored 2 more goals. Maybe "clever" instead of "character?"
