MLS Week 8 Preview

Columbus at Toronto FC
The first match of the day is an interesting one that involves a battle for another cup, the inaugural trillium cup. Columbus has had a wonderful start to the league, and will look to catch a Toronto FC team still napping from a bye week. Does Brad Evans have what it takes to fill the void for Columbus? Will the new mix of players in Toronto be able to mesh well early? I think Columbus has the advantage in this one because of team chemistry. For a full preview click here.

Yammers Pick: Columbus - 1 Toronto FC - 0

Kansas City at New York
This is my pick for the game of the day, with two evenly matched teams I think anything can happen. Kansas City is looking to regain its footing after starting out strong and stumbling as of late. On the other hand New York is full of confidence from there win at LA, Angel is back and they should have no problem cruising to victory at home. The Red Bulls will be without Reyna and Stammler, but shouldn't miss either of them. For a full preview click here.

Yammers Pick: Kansas City - 1 New York - 3

San Jose at New England
Well if you cant see this one coming I just don't know what to tell you. Of course New England has the upper hand, maybe Twellman suffered a little set back but they still have enough quality personnel to take down San Jose. The Quakes are in shambles at the moment and who knows what can save them. If anyone knows please tell me or better yet tell Yallop. Look for Steve Ralston to be the difference maker for the Revs in this one, he has been quiet lately and is just begging to make some noise on the stat sheet. For a full preview click here.

Yammers Pick: San Jose - 0 New England - 3

Houston at Chicago
The Fire may be rolling as of late, but don't count this Houston team out just yet. I think the dynamo's win last week will breathe a little life into them and cause the Fire some trouble. Expect the usual from Chicago, a very solid defense and Blanco making some magic happen. However I see this one as a draw with the Dynamo trying to get back on its feet. Yammers Pick: Houston - 1 Chicago - 1

DC United at Chivas USA
This game this week, only one word can come to mind..... interesting. Both of these teams have been struggling as of late, and who knows what will happen. Preki has been throwing all kinds of guys in the mix, and DC just has no confidence. I have to give the edge to Chivas for being at home, hopefully Gallindo can grab a goal and steal the three points for the home side. For a full preview click here.

Yammers Pick: DC United - 0 Chivas USA - 1

LA Galaxy at FC Dallas
I do not expect too match action from this contest, on a hot day in Dallas, neither team will look impressive. The Galaxy and Beckham continue to search for any type of consistency and FC Dallas is trying to reclaim the top spot in the West. I think you will be hard pressed to find any goals in this one, but if someone does count them lucky. For a full preview click here.

Yammers Pick: LA Galaxy - 0 FC Dallas - 0
