- The MLS - Barcelona partnership is already starting to pay off with the clubs first announced friendly in the States. Barcelona will face New York Red Bull at Giants stadium on Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 7 pm. This is expected to be released later today to the public.
- Brian McBride has left Fulham, and is expected to return to the MLS. “After much consideration with my family, we have decided to leave Fulham after four and a half fantastic years,” McBride said in a team-issued statement. “I have always stated my intention to return to America at some stage and this seems like the right moment in my career to move on.” So where will the 35 year old end up? The likely destinations being Chicago and Columbus. McBride leaves Fulham after scoring 40 goals in 150 appearances since joining the club in 2004.
- On the eve of the unveil of the Seattle Sounders jersey Microsoft has announced its partnership with the club. Reports say the deal is worth $4 million a season for five years. When the jersey is unveiled the words “XBox 360 Live” will be printed across the chest.
